On Thursday, January 28, 2021, we experience a Full Moon in the Leo constellation, and as this luminary moves into Leo an interesting shift occurs. For the past week our luminaries (Sun and Moon) have been working together to shift us collectively from darkness to light. A Leo Moon always represents a time when we are at our peak power to shine a light on ourselves and on others. The luminaries are utilizing this same energy, and they are also moving into perfect alignment with Earth – the Sun and Moon are lined up and we’re in the middle unable to ignore the darkness on one side, the lightness on the other, and the big beam of light switched on by the Moon’s entrance into the Leo constellation. Venus and Pluto are in ideal positions to bring up themes of darkness, and Black Moon Lilith is heavily involved and ready to trigger all of us in order to get us to confront the darkness we typically avoid. This is likely to occur on personal and collective levels. As mentioned in the Weekly Forecast, we’re in Black Lilith’s dark zone facing Saturn (Lord of Karma) and the Luminaries (both darkness and light), so be prepared for hard truths and karmic reckoning. It is likely the disclosures and darkness will be revealed over the next 29 days (lunar cycle), but full understanding might not occur until after Mercury leaves its retrograde cycle on Feb. 12. Again, there is temptation to feel triggered to react without full understanding and it might take weeks to gain a full understanding. Don’t rush in and don’t rush to conclusions now or during the next month.

The Weekly Forecast also explored the “tug-of-war” energy so common throughout this week, and the Wolf Moon stays on target here. This Moon is involved in a T-Square with five other celestials (Uranus, Mars, Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn) resulting in a “Frog in Boiling Water” feeling or just an internal sense of pressure and unsettled energy wanting to burst out of us. We also have the Full Moon squaring Mars (aggression) and interacting with Jupiter in a way that only expands one’s aggression and rash impulses. This is paired with the “triggering” we’re going to experience from Black Moon Lilith, and the possibility of actual tremors, earthquakes, and volcanic eruption (mainly due to the volcanic energy within us and Uranus and Mars’ position suggesting unexpected, violent, disruptions are possible). Work out this energy in the healthiest way possible over the next month – don’t let it manifest as chaotic and dramatic disruptions in your life (especially if you have strong Scorpio, Taurus, or Aquarius in your natal chart).

People born under Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus (Sun, Moon, or Rising) are likely to experience this on a personal level the most. Taurus is likely to feel a tug-of-war between work and home, Scorpio is likely to have light shined on their professional ambitions, and Aquarius will have a light shined on their relationship. Like all of us, we might not appreciate the glaring light of Truth we are shown but we all must confront the Truth and the light nonetheless. It’s a hard lesson to confront darkness, but the confrontation is what helps us heal and move on.

As this Full Moon comes in and sets the tone for the next month, it’s important to check and double check yourself on love and safety. This Full Moon merges with the Hygeia asteroid and brings themes of health and hygiene so over the next month we’re more likely to see an increase in illness, health fears, and death. This occurs with an increase in risk taking – people socializing more, people feeling more impulsive and feeling invincible when they’re clearly not (thanks to the Full Moon interacting with Mars and Jupiter – expanding our rash actions and aggression). Mars interacting with Black Moon Lilith furthers the desire to take risks, explore taboos, act more promiscuous and throw caution (and condoms) to the wind. See where this going? “Would you like covid or chlamydia?” Say no to both, and don’t be tempted to ignore your own safety and others. The last time we had an aspect lowering health and safety (including not washing hands) there was indeed a spike in health issues following the short-lived transit. Don’t let the Universe trick your health or your heart at this time.

Venus in a conjuct with Pluto makes the next few weeks a less than ideal time to start dating someone (it won’t last and it will be a mess), but also a difficult time for someone who is struggling with a stalker or any type of love-obsession situation. Crazy jealousy, possessiveness, dangerous people, stalkers, and addicts come out of the dark to play when Venus and Pluto are merged like this – and the darkness is brought to light here like the common theme of this Full Moon. You could meet or develop feelings or a magnetic attraction for someone at this time and it feels so intense and karmic (“They’re my TWIN FLAME!!”) but there is a deception, darkness, and an illusion behind it all. Even within healthy and established relationships there will be temptation to throw a guilt trip or two, play the marytyr for a day, or feel jealousy and mistrust more than normal. The only positive outcome here is you exposing your shadow side to another and feeling accepted regardless, or your partner shows their dark side and you love and accept them regardless.

There are over 25 different aspects occurring during this Full Moon, meaning every single one of us is getting a lot of tense and aggressive energy thrown our way. The good news is you are aware of the energy and will now know to watch for the “triggers,” and to keep it extra safe and sanitary over the next month.

As we enter into this lunar cycle – the last lunar cycle in this lunar year since Lunar New Year is on Feb. 12 – so many of us will begin to feel weight lighting. The heavy transits and aspects concerning Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, and Jupiter begin to lift and dissipate. More good news? So many of us are having the more challenging and difficult transitions end and by the time spring arrives we’ll feel lighter and less restricted. As we end major astrological cycles and our lunar nodes have shifted elements (and inspired so many to change or re-align their path in life) this Full Moon – like all full moons – is an opportunity for us to release what no longer serves us. Let go as needed at this time, and be willing to confront the darkness in both yourself and others in order to have a better future in the light.

FINAL THOUGHT: The January Full Moon has been historically referred to as the “Wolf Moon.” It’s a myth wolves actually howl at the Moon directly, and the naming of this annual lunar event relates more to the common cries of wolves during late January when food is scarce and wolf pups are hungry or actually starving. As we experience this Wolf Moon in 2021, we have a quarter of the children in this country experiencing hunger or actually starving. As What The Stars Say pointed out in the Weekly Forecast, a theme likely to arise from this lunar event and during the next lunar cycle (apx. 29 days) is concern for other’s children. The wolf story is shared not to depress you, but to align you with the lunar energies at play during this time and the recent shifts of Saturn and Jupiter into Aquarius and the ushering into a new era. In this new era, we must collectively continue to examine the broken systems that have been pointed out to us since the Saturn and Pluto conjuncted around this time last year. Many broken systems became glaringly obvious in the face of challenge and upheaval. Uranus in Taurus (2018-2025) furthers the confrontation of broken systems and pushes us to tackle issues in food production specifically. Food prices have risen for the past seven months straight (an early indicator of hyperinflation), but it’s not just rising costs we’re dealing with; availability and inequality issues are also of concern. Some citizens stockpile. Some citizens starve. May the howls of the hungry be heard at this time, and may we all pause to listen during this Full Moon and recognize how our new era will never be successful if a quarter of our children are starving.

As we have collectively entered Aquarius season (Jan. 19 – Feb. 18) there’s been a party happening with the Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn all in the “Water-Bearer” constellation. In astrology, the gathering of three or more celestial in the same constellation is known as a stellium. When a stellium exists, it results in an overpowering of energy from that specific constellation. A stellium in Aquarius results in an energy that is Fixed (unmovable), Air (mental), and Masculine (external/outgoing) in its nature. An Aquarius stellium also brings more original and independent thinking into play and a desire to unite and bring more creativity and community to our outer world. These energies are available to us at this time.

When Saturn and Jupiter left Capricorn and moved into the Aquarius constellation, they set a new tone – a new era – for all of us on Earth. To experience an Aquarian stellium at such a momentous time helps us fully understand what this new era is about and the themes and issues we are being asked to examine. This is a week worth paying attention to. Let’s get into it (and be sure to read all the days – even if they have past since together they form a more complete picture of what we will experience over the next 29 days):

MONDAY, JAN. 25: As we start the week we’ve got the Sun in Aquarius and our Moon in Cancer. The Moon is at home in Cancer and brings emotional and nurturing undertones. The Aquarius Sun, however, is at the same degree as Uranus in Taurus and this results in the temptation to share half-truths as a way to avoid confrontation or out of fear and/or a built-up anger that comes out unexpectedly.

When it comes to our anger, we all should keep in mind Mars has moved from the Aries constellation into Taurus resulting in a shift between “Youthful Rebellion” to a “Long-Time Coming Anger.” Before, the anger we experienced or projected onto others was similar to a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. Aries, after all, is the baby of the zodiac and known for a fiery temper that can go away as easy as it came on. Taurus, however, is known as the Bull and epitomizes “Long-Time Coming” anger. Taurus energy is known for being calm and patient, yet when a person with a natal Taurus Sun, Ascendant, or Mars finally gets angry it is truly a sight to behold. Mars in Taurus anger isn’t like confronting an angry toddler, but more like confronting an angry Bull with flaring nostrils and one horn already impaled into a Matador’s body.

“Mess with the Bull and you get the horns.” – Yes, it’s a movie quote (“Breakfast Club”) but still a good thing to keep in mind while Mars – the planet of action and aggression – is in the Bull’s constellation.

TUESDAY, JAN. 26: Now that we have some #MondayMotivation to avoid getting impaled by a Bull, let’s go into the tension between Mars (in Taurus) and Uranus (also in Taurus). This tension between action (Mars) and rebellion (Uranus) needs to be personally kept in check this week, because it could show up in your life in a couple of different ways. For example, as the Sun nears Jupiter and the Full Moon (this Friday) Jupiter will be exalted and this can lead to an overestimation of our abilities, the telling of tall-tales, and an over and unmerited amplification of situations and emotions. The Sun is in a square to Uranus (resulting in tension) and Mars is in a square to Jupiter (resulting in more tension), so don’t be surprised at all if this week feels like a tug-of-war. The Bull (Mars in Taurus) is already flaring his nostrils, so keep the anger and passions in place now so you’re more prepared as the week goes on and more powerful and influential energies come in.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 27: Venus and Pluto are hanging out together in the Capricorn constellation all week bringing heavy vibes. This clearly isn’t a casual hang because Venus and Pluto are deeply focused on what is authentic, secure, and aligned with what has real meaning and value to us. Perhaps you’ve found yourself examining your life and relationships in this same heavy way. Venus rules our loves, our partnerships, our money, and our creativity. On a personal level, Pluto is asking us to consider where we can transform and re-imagine in these areas. Keep in mind since Venus and Pluto are paired in Capricorn specifically there’s more suspicion and less trust. Understand this might amplify your viewpoint (also see above on Mars anger and know as Mercury moves into Retrograde at the end of the week it will actually help most of us look at situations with more reason, proper proportion, and accuracy). Today, as the Cancer Moon runs in opposition to Venus and Pluto the areas we need to transform will become more clear and continue to illuminate as we move into the Full Moon.

THURSDAY, JAN. 28: Tonight we experience the final Full Moon of the yearly zodiac cycle before we enter a lunar new year on Feb. 12. Besides being a Wolf Moon, this Full Moon has an axis and over 25 astrological aspects occurring at the same time. There will be a separate posts on all of the different stories the stars are telling us during this Full Moon cycle (it’s just that layered and fascinating so be sure to subscribe below so you don’t miss out). For now, though, let’s focus on just a few of the key stories during this next lunar cycle (apx. 29 days). For the past week our luminaries (Sun and Moon) have been trying to co-exist and take us collectively from dark to light. They have been moving into position and aligning with other celestial to shed light on the darkness we have overlooked. It is not until we fully confront the darkness that we can stand fully in the light, so the dark must come out in order for us to gain deeper understanding and start to heal. As the Moon grows full it moves into a perfect alignment with the Sun and Earth while allowing Black Moon Lilith to come into the trio, and this is where it gets very interesting. Black Moon Lilith is known as “the dark zone” and in this position we are likely to feel triggered to react without a full understanding. Over the next 29 days we will be confronted with the darkness we typically avoid and the Truths that have escaped us. “Trigger” is a key word for this Full Moon, and it is likely we will each be triggered in different ways according to our own situations and natal chart. But, the luminaries didn’t get all perfectly lined up for just personal reasons – there’s a collective lesson to learn here, and What The Stars Say is looking to Saturn in Aquarius themes to find out what the collective lesson might concern. Saturn in Aquarius wants us to face the consequences (for better or worse) of the reality we have created. But, it’s not just our own little reality as much as it is the reality we have created for the children on Earth and in our collective care. For far too long the adults have been too consumed with publicly fighting over politics, and it’s time the children caught in the middle received attention. We’re about to go into Black Lilith’s dark zone and face Saturn (Lord of Karma) and the Luminaries (both darkness and light), so be prepared for hard truths and karmic reckoning. It is likely the disclosures and darkness will be revealed over the next 29 days (lunar cycle), but full understanding might not occur until after Mercury leaves its retrograde cycle on Feb. 12. Again, there is temptation to feel triggered to react without full understanding and it might take weeks to gain a full understanding so aim to be the Bull who is chill and grazing on grass rather than the Bull charging at a Matador. Black Moon Lilith actually provides us with a calm to temper the Mars aggressive anger coming in, so tap into the lunar energy in order to receive hard truths and disclosures from a more serene and open space. It’s going to be a challenging lunar cycle for us all, and the more time you can spend in nature or just staring at the night sky and contemplating the more you’ll be able to successfully navigate the next month. Give yourself time to process information, and continue to bounce your ideas and concerns off a trusted friend.

Saturn recently moved from Capricorn to Aquarius and this is a shift from “corporate” to “collective” and from “I work” to “I know.” There is no finer example of this than within the own mythology of Aquarius as the “Water-Bearer” in the sky. Look at the image above, and consider this: The Aquarius water being spilled down upon us is not actual water, but rather ether. It is in the ether we are able to pull out ideas and solutions like magic. The ether actually is the magic.

FRIDAY, JAN. 29: Does the Wolf Moon have you howling yet? The galaxy is throwing optimism and information our way, but it’s up to us how we use the energy bestowed upon us. Jupiter wants us to expand and grow, but the transmission of this inspiration can also lead to over-estimation and lack of practicality. Mars – when triggered – wants us to charge onto the battlefield before we even understand why we are at war. Today’s Leo Moon in opposition to Mercury in Aquarius (while preparing for retrograde) also misleads us and tempts us to misuse our gifts, tell half-truths (or lies of omission), and act in a rash matter. This is all compounded by the other energies, so it’s vital each of us looks before we leap right now. It’s just too easy to rush out into the battlefield without understanding the battle. Be patient – more disclosures and information to better guide you is still on the way.

SATURDAY, JAN. 30: Today is a great day to get things done, and the Virgo Moon brings a “whistle while you work” mood to the day. The Virgo Moon trines both Mars and Uranus in Taurus giving us a boost of energy, attention to detail, and originality. It’s a great day to mix things up, walk backwards, and do something with your hands that makes you feel productive. Mercury moves into its retrograde cycle today where it will continue until Feb. 18. Remember the Aquarius Stellium we discussed earlier in the week? Well, it comes back into play here. Aquarius also rules technology and the Internet, so it shouldn’t be a shock to any astrologer to see the dialogue on where Big Tech and social media is heading come to a major fork in the road. These issues and conversations will only continue (and Saturn and Pluto have guaranteed tech issues will continue for the next two years), but in the far more immediate future because we have Mercury in Aquarius in retrograde it’s an excellent time to back-up your files, and to clean up and better secure your digital life.

SUNDAY, JAN. 31: This is the best day of the week to lay low and avoid the “triggers” promised with this week’s Full Moon. The Virgo Moon is in opposition to Neptune and the sensitive will feel hypersensitive, those struggling with addiction will feel more cravings, and many will come across as spaced out, insincere, and off balance. The Virgo Moon’s trine to Pluto in the Capricorn constellation can result in a reawakening of feelings within us and a desire to take off and explore the word, but this is a passing feeling and we each need to check ourselves for one-sided and off balanced thinking during this Moon. The day is best spend laying low, and checking in our loved ones who are struggling at this time.

Note from Holly, Founder of What The Stars Say…

The New Moon today occurs in the 23rd degree of Capricorn with the Sun nearby. This New Moon forms a strong conjunct in Pluto. This splits the cosmic viewpoint to “black and white” with no area for compromise in-between. We are certain and fixed in our beliefs, and this New Moon and Pluto together only AMPLIFY the extremities we are already experiencing in this nation.

My nation has gone crazy. The August 2017 Total Eclipse that literally divided our nation into two (running from where the first shot in the U.S. Civil War rang out in South Carolina to – shocker – Portland, Oregon) is in full effect. A fellow empath and lightworker described this past week like the scene from “The Fifth Element” where Leeloo discovers “war.” I couldn’t agree more.

I suggested a break from the online world, but not many listened. Now, my suggestion is to focus on CREATING your own future instead of waiting around for insane politicians to dictate your future. Go within to find your peace instead of going online to find your anger. “Chaos and Confusion” was their agenda starting back in 2015. In 2017, they went full-force on “Divide and Conquer.” The Internet is filled with echo chambers, psyops, rabbit holes, false news, half-truths, and primarily doing an amazing job at confusing and dividing us as a nation. The more you can self-govern and stay offline from this point on the more likely you are to win the U.S. Hunger Games.

Like I said in June 2020, this is spiritual warfare and the dark arts practitioners have – 3 years later – successfully divided our nation into two. Today, they will use the New Moon and Plutocratic energy to further divide and confuse you. Then, they will use the 1st Quarter Moon against you, and so on. Are you falling for this? Do you feel divided within? Are you operating out of fear-based thinking? When you cyberbully each other, the dark wins. When you judge each other and view the world from a fixed perspective and don’t allow room for differing viewpoints and voices, the dark wins. When you spend your day focused on what THEIR plan for your future is, rather than CREATING your own future, the dark wins.

The dark loves nothing more to distract you from your light, and this New Moon is an important time to distract you. Instead of hearing the call of the luminaries to think back to the last time we were at 23 degrees in Capricorn and Saturn and Pluto merged in our sky (Jan. 12, 2020), they want you to use this time watching their political theatre and marveling in the power they hold over you and the entire nation’s future. Click, marvel, scroll, marvel, fear, click, fear, click, division, fear… Instead of thinking back to how much your life has been used and destroyed all in the name of their political theatre and geopolitical agendas over the past year, you’ll focus on what they’re doing now and (gasp!) what they’ll do next. The Sun and the Moon over you today want you to use this luminary energy to reclaim your life and build something that lasts. To self-govern as much as possible, and to take all of your hurts and experiences over the past year and transform yourself and your life. Miracles can happen now, and many don’t want you to recognize what a divine and incredibly powerful cosmic being you are, nor do they want us to recognize how connected we all are here on Earth.

The call to review and integrate our experiences and to re-claim our lives is with us for the next 29 days. The Clash of the Titans – in our galaxy and throughout global politics – will continue with many twists and turns. Find yourself and find your calm within this chaos.

I hope to return to you in a more peaceful and rational time in the near future. I believe in the people of my nation and their ability to find rationality in irrational times, to choose love over chaos, and to show the reliciency and character that created a nation of such incredible freedom it is a role model to so many across Earth and in the galaxies beyond. I believe in you, and I believe in us. The Light is winning. “Don’t Panic.”

What the Stars Say is pleased to present a deep dive into one of the most prominent astrological stories in the “Shit Show” known as 2020. The transit of Uranus in Taurus began in 2018, but now in summer of 2020 its influence is making itself quite clear as it disrupts the economy, weather, food production, supply chains, and sets off on a mission of Karmic Reckoning in many industries (tech, fashion, food/ag, finance, etc.). Enjoy the deep dive and may it result in you being more prepared and a better co-creator with astrology as this transit continues throughout the next six years.

Get your weekly cosmic forecast and a free astrology lesson in a new What The Stars Say video. The current week and retrograde season are covered, and you’ll get a breakdown in translating a current astrology aspect / transit with Mercury squaring Mars. This square puts our thoughts into action, or will it put your thoughts and actions in a tense tug-of-war? Watch and find out…

“Be kind, rewind!” is the message from the cosmos this week as three planets join Pluto in retrograde motion and the emotional intensity of last week’s Super Full Moon in Scorpio continues to influence us.

MONDAY, MAY 11: Saturn – already in the Aquarius constellation – moves into retrograde as Mercury squares Mars; suggesting restrictions on both thinking and acting. In the Capricorn constellation, the Moon merges with Pluto and causes us to dwell on deep and dark matters while its fellow luminary – the Sun – sextiles Uranus and brings unexpected and possibly disruptive information to the table.

TUESDAY, MAY 12: “The Messenger” planet Mercury is in the Gemini constellation and forming a trine to Saturn as its moved into retrograde in Aquarius. This is a lot of Air energy and our thought process are connecting up with the future systems and realities possible when Saturn moves into its final Aquarian position on the Winter Solstice. Pay attention to your thoughts and any messages that come your way today, because there’s a good chance you’re receiving data related to where you need to go next and/or about something important you’re overlooking and need to review.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 13: Venus comes to a complete standstill in Gemini as the planet of love and money moves into Retrograde. Find out what this retrograde means to you in “Venus Loves You In 2020.” This retrograde takes place on the relationship degree (21 degrees) so today marks the beginning of many weeks where you will be asked to re-examine all of your relationships – friends, lovers, business, family, and (perhaps most importantly) your relationship with yourself. Mars also moves into Pisces and in this position we face a conflict with freedom. This is, sadly, an ironic conflict at this time considering we are dealing with issues related to human rights and justice, as well as dealing with personal freedoms at risk throughout the globe since the “solution” presented involves tracking every moment (the opposite of “freedom”), and millions are sheltering in place and questioning how and when they will move freely in their daily lives.

THURSDAY, MAY 14: While the 2020 Retrograde Season is asking you to love yourself, Mars’ entrance into Pisces is asking you to confront freedom (or lack thereof) and also to to confront yourself. This confrontation is supported by last weeks’ Super Full Moon in Scorpio where we are provided with the courage to confront the dark side of ourselves and others, as well as all of the skeletons in the closet. This lunar energy will last for weeks, and Mars in Pisces supports the same theme and emotional confrontation. Many will feel like burning the old down so they can re-emerge like a Phoenix – but this, of course, requires sorting through what to burn and what to keep. Challenge yourself to sort through your emotional closets, and know the cosmos is supporting you and providing the mental health needed to confront it all.

FRIDAY, MAY 15: The Sun trines Pluto and wants to shine a light on what is dark, what needs destroyed, and any deceit needing exposed. Mercury trines Chiron providing a wonderful time for emotional conversations and healing. This is a solid day to work things out with someone you’ve been having difficulty with. Jupiter moves into Retrograde in Capricorn providing a chance for many to expand their thinking, skills, and deepen their spirituality over the next few months.

SATURDAY, MAY 16: The Sun joins Mars and Neptune in Pisces while Venus is forming a square to Neptune that will last for the next week. While all of this Pisces energy can help us explore the depths of our subconscious and continue to sort through the skeletons in the closet, it is placement that is also conducive to escapism, addiction, and wanting to live in fantasy rather than reality. Strive for realism and responsibility today, but allow yourself some time to daydream and dig deep. Pay attention to your dreams tonight.

SUNDAY, MAY 17: The Sun moves into a harmonious position to Saturn while the “Lord of Karma” and “Father of Time” is in the quirky Aquarius constellation in a retrograde motion. This trine position lasts until Monday, and suggests more downloads/insight/data coming in as to how you can better align on your path and re-oriented yourself moving forward.

Venus has been a blessing during the tumultuous cosmic year of 2020 and provided us with collective comfort as we confront major paradigm shifts. Although this is a general examination of Venus and does not take into account one’s personal natal placements and current transits, collectively, it’s clear Venus has been in the right place at the right time in early 2020. Here’s a run-down of her year so far:

As 2020 began, Venus was providing some much-needed love in the Capricorn constellation as a stellium of planets created what we’ve referred to as the “Least Fun Party Ever.” At this party, Jupiter was expanding others power and energy but had his own diminished and was treated like a rebellious child who just got grounded and cut off from his trust fund. Pluto was there to start a fight and demand redemption while Saturn was silently judging everyone and ready to fight Pluto. Venus, however, stayed at the party just long enough to say hello and leave before the fight began.

Venus escaped Capricorn on January 9, 2020, and went to hide out in the Aquarius constellation where she could bring us “collective love vibes” as we confronted the “Shit Show” – aka the fight that broke out at the party between Saturn and Pluto leaving us all in a global health and economic crisis. As the crisis unfolded, Venus went to Pisces to provide us support as we faced endings and impermanence – the end of lives, the risks many lives were in, and the end of life as we know it. Venus is exalted in Pisces, so even though we had a major cosmic battle happening, the planet of love was doing her best to send loving and supportive cosmic waves our way.

As we had to leap into action and response in early to mid-March, Venus went over to the fast acting and brave Aries constellation. At the end of March 2020 as many were sheltering-in-place, she entered into Taurus where Venus truly feels at home. During this time she reminded us of the joy that can be felt at home and in nature. Many people have found a walk in nature deeply beneficial to their mental and emotional health. Venus at home in Taurus resulted in Mother Earth getting a much needed break from everyday and industrial pollution, and in many first time gardeners. As Taurus also rules money, Venus in Taurus provided us with much needed financial support during this time (and she’ll have our back again when she enters the 2nd House in early 2021 and helps the United States in economic recovery).

Venus provided us with a blessed and rare alignment when she crossed the Pleiades on April 3, 2020. This crossing provided us with even more galactic support and grounding.

This early 2020 Venus recap is essential, because we need you to understand VENUS HAS BEEN THERE FOR YOU IN EARLY 2020. Give a planet some praise, alright? Give gratitude first, and then get ready to co-create with astrology because Venus is about to introduce her own Paradigm Shift into 2020.

On April 3, 2020, when Venus crossed the Pleiades she was on her way to the Gemini constellation. Let’s view this as Venus going home in Taurus to recharge after helping Earth and its beings all year. It wasn’t a complete break since she was still sending us “self-love vibes” and urging us to take care of ourselves during this difficult time.

Did you notice how Venus went through six different constellations in the first four months of 2020? She was rushing through, but as she enters Gemini she knows she’ll be in this one constellation for four long months. Why? Because she has to experience a retrograde cycle. Venus stations retrograde in Gemini on May 13, 2020, and then she stations direct on June 25, 2020, and continues to reside in Gemini until August 8, 2020. Essentially, she went home before making a long and strange trip.

Let’s explore this trip in the Twin Constellation of Gemini by examining the ways Venus is – yet again – showing us the ideal support needed in 2020.

  • Venus in Gemini favors skills and trades and gives us over a year’s span of time to learn and professionally grow at an accelerated rate. At a time when the job market is shifting, this is an incredibly blessing. Although Rahu in Sagittarius weakens traditional educational institutions, Venus in Gemini is all about practical and highly employable skills. This placement also favors working with hands so anyone in a skilled trade or hand-made goods will be blessed by Venus at this time.
  • Venus in Gemini supports rapid training as well! If you have to change jobs or industries, or want to expand and learn new skills this is an excellent time. Gemini is Mercurial so our thinking, learning, and thought process can be accelerated when it comes to Venus themes like finances/material resources, art, creativity, beauty, and nature.
  • Venus and Rahu in Gemini is rooting for local businesses! For the next year and a half, these two are putting the focus on local groups and businesses while detaching from large scale productions and organizations.
  • Venus in Gemini will help us overcome our fear of touch and awaken our need for curiosity, touch, and deep connections. We must be mindful of Gemini ruling arms and hands, and be not slack on washing our hands. This placement puts work with hands in favor, but neglects hand sanitizing. “Wash Your Hands!”
  • Venus in Gemini offers us an opportunity for higher expression and the ability to see ourselves as part of the whole. This influence makes it far easier for us to confront our shadow side and merge our own duality, as well as making it easier for us to see the duality in others. It will be easier to see other’s viewpoints, and this is critical during a time when some many forces are trying to divide us. Venus in Gemini encourages us to unite against opposing forces and merge with each other.
  • Venus in Gemini rules transportation on wheels (cars, planes, etc.), so short road trips are in and this is a blessing because at the same time changes with the Lunar Nodes and the Sagittarius constellation (plus, just current events in general) are going to put a serious damper on long-distance travel. Venus rescues us again by encouraging us to hit the road and explore locations closer to home we’ve never had a chance to see, to visit friends nearby, and use trips for connections and mental stimulation.
  • Venus in Gemini is all about being chatty, communicating, teaching and learning. Whether it’s IRL (in real life) or online, this transit will have us all connecting and reaching out far more.

This all sounds good and it is, but we also have some challenges and wild cards still out there.

Venus in Gemini rules air, lungs, and breathing. The retrograde cycle (May 13-June 25, 2020) could either accelerate the spread of a virus or slow it down. This is still a wild card.

The other wild card is will Venus in Gemini retrograde support the daily personal travel and transportation industry or will her retrograde grind it to a halt?

With Rahu joining Venus in Gemini there’s also the possibility of detachment from institutions (academia again) and organized religion. This time is about small groups, and it’s hyper-local and community driven. It will be interesting to see how this shift plays out on more outside, large -scale institutions and globalization in general.

Venus is about Love, Money, Desires, Art, Security, and Relationships. When the planet of love goes into retrograde, how will this affect us both personally and collectively? She’s had our back for so long, but what happens when she’s moving backwards?

It turns out, Mercury (ruler of Gemini )has Venus’ back during this time and slides into a supportive position right as she goes retrograde. However, on a personal level this might not feel like a supportive position to us during May as Venus and Mercury are both in Gemini and creating squares to Neptune. This results in us being tempted to give in to the illusion and fantasy, rather than the reality in our material and relationship realms.

There are many wild cards here since each person is in a unique position with how Venus is interacting with their natal / birth chart and the personal transits they’re experiencing at this time. Yet, collectively, there’s energy here for Venus in Gemini retrograde that can either deepen or destroy existing relationships. We can expect to hear about many new relationships and many divorces at the end of this retrograde cycle. But, what is also a wild card is how one chooses to handle the Venus frequency. Will you use this transit and retrograde to merge more with your loved one (Venus in Gemini at highest frequency), or will you choose the lower frequency and act in a duplicitous way and seek a connection outside of your partnership? Keep in mind Gemini is the Twins and Venus in Gemini is often voted “Most Likely to Cheat.”

Both Mercury and Venus retrogrades are notorious for causing people to reach out to former lovers (just to “check in” or full-on attempts to rekindle romance). Be wary of those with such strong desires they’re capable of destroying marriages and families. Be wary of your own unchecked desires, and know that you can communicate about uncharted sexual territory at this time. It’s a wonderful time to mix things up and deepen existing relationships, but it’s also a time many will choose the lower frequency and look elsewhere in their need to mix things up.

On the personal relationship and passion front we must also confront the awakening of desires, increased sexuality, and need for touch and connection inherent in a Venus in Gemini retrograde cycle.

This transit is helpful for wallflowers hesitant to put themselves out there and it’s also all about online hookups. Gemini loves digital communication. This is great news for all singles focused on online dating at this time.

Kesenya made a great video for AstroLada breaking down the Venus Retrograde for all 12 signs (Time Stamps in caption so you can easily skip ahead to your sign:

Venus In All Signs begins 50:59. Gemini 51:15, Taurus 52:10, Aries 53:11, Pisces 54:02, Aquarius 55:32, Capricorn 56:29, Sagittarius 57:41 Scorpio 59:28, Libra 1:01:42, Virgo 1:03:16, Leo 1:04:08, Cancer 1:05:31,

POST RETROGRADE

Venus remains in Gemini after the retrograde cycle, remaining in the shadows before she goes direct. The Planet of Love and Money is expected to predict the economic future by how quickly she becomes visible in June. Venus is expected to go visible on June 10, but the longer her visibility is delayed the harder hit for financial markets.

Venus remains in the Gemini constellation until she moves into Cancer on August 7, 2020.

Other cosmic transits and aspects (especially Mars in Aries) suggest a difficult summer for the United States, as well as many endings and beginnings throughout the globe as we experience a shift in lunar nodes, solar and lunar eclipses, and begin to emerge from Retrograde Season. From this viewpoint, Venus moving into Cancer suggests a nurturing presence at a time when it is deeply needed. As emotions are processed on multiple levels, Venus is in the emotional water of Cancer (which is also the Sun Sign of the United States using July 4 as the country’s birthday).

After we get our emotions out, we move into the spotlight with Venus in Leo (September 6, 2020) causing us to shine a light on ourselves and others and appreciate family, creativity, and children. With this placement, we need to check our ego and pride since Leo can roar when neglected or wounded, but Venus in a Fire sign will give us a much needed boost either way.

On October 2, 2020, Venus moves into Virgo and puts a focus on work, service, and health. Later in the month, (October 28, 2020) Venus moves into Libra and our focus shifts to relationships and creating harmony and balance in our relationships and environment.

In November, Venus asks us to examine the darker side and it’s likely this will connect with the eclipse near Venus’ entrance into Scorpio on November 21, 2020. Venus’ placement in the water sign of Scorpio allows us to explore the shadow side without fear, to play detective as needed, and to feel on a deep and passionate level. It is likely Venus will yet again provide us with much needed support during our darkest nights this fall.

Venus ends the year by going in the adventurous Fire sign Sagittarius on December 1, 2020. Here, Venus wants to mentally and physically expand. The Lunar North Node is also in Sagittarius at this time, so this is about reinvention, higher thinking (and subjective thinking), realigning with our true path, and being ready to leap into a new year that is truly new.

During the February STARCAST presentation, What the Stars Say explained why the week of Valentine’s Day is a sick joke from Cosmic Cupid. Here’s a breakdown of the energies at play:

The week kicks off in the “Shadow Phase” of the forthcoming Mercury Retrograde cycle, and this phase is a time potent with miscommunication and misunderstanding. During such times, hurt feelings and arguments are more likely to result. Romantic, right?

If the cosmic energies of this week were a television show, it would be the end of Season 3 of “Sex and the City.” This part of the series is when Karma comes back to the ladies and despite their best intentions miscommunication rules romance.

But, wait! There’s more here because retrograde cycles are also known for prompting people to “revisit” the past, and this is why a Mercury Retrograde is as likely to bring your exes out of hiding as a Venus Retrograde cycle – they’re “revisiting” the relationship. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself suddenly thinking of a past relationship, or if a former lover reaches out to you just to “check in.” (This cycle lasts Feb. 10 – March 10).

Also happening during this week (and this “Shadow Phase”) is a challenging aspect between Venus (Planet of Love) and Chiron (“The Wounded Healer”) making this a time when old wounds may suddenly reappear and new injuries may occur. This is happening Feb. 9 until Feb 12, and while many people might need to explore old loves and old wounds to determine what still needs healed the experience won’t be welcomed with open arms.

The cosmic energies and movements at this time suggest disruptive, revealing and unexpected times, events, and themes in matters of love. While many people are more than ready for change and action, real change and lasting action aren’t possible until Sunday (Feb. 16) when Mars (Planet of Action) moves from its “fit and spurts” ability in Sagittarius into the “solid and lasting” action possible in the Capricorn constellation.

MONDAY: The Mercury Retrograde “Shadow Phase” has its fog machine turned up to high today. The Virgo Moon (focused on data, service, health and organization) is at odds with Mercury in Pisces (focused on daydreams, creativity, and the subconscious) and the Sun in Aquarius (focused on innovative, unity, and the future). If you feel out of sorts today, it’s no wonder with the dichotomy happening between our Luminaries (Moon and Sun) and our closest neighbor (Mercury).

TUESDAY: The fog clears today and we return to higher mental clarity as a lot of Earth energy comes in with the Virgo Moon forming harmonious angles to Pluto and Saturn in Capricorn. The Void of Course Moon happening during the shift between the Virgo and Libra constellation, gives us time to separate our emotional thinking from our rational thinking. This is a wonderful day to meditate, contemplate, and get some insight before the fog machine gets turned back on. Even though the Earth energy will make you want to build something solid and take action, it’s best to wait until Mars enters the Earth energy constellation of Capricorn on Sunday as well – until then, all action lacks staying power.

WEDNESDAY: The fog machine is back on, and we’re all in the thick fog of Mercury’s “Shadow Phase.” Be especially kind and gentle towards yourself and others today, because it won’t be easy for any of us with the Moon at odds with Jupiter (Luck), Venus (Love), and Chiron (“The Wounded Healer”). The Libra Moon wants balance in both love and aesthetics, zero conflict, and harmony within relationships but this is extremely difficult to achieve with all of the harsh aspects at play. Libra wants to avoid conflict and confrontation, but there’s a good chance it will meet them head-on unless we are all mindful of the potentiality to hurt and be hurt today. If you are single, know that if you meet someone today you are seeing them through rose-colored glasses and projecting what and who you want to see rather than reality. This is not a day for new romance. You can work well with others today, but you won’t find it as easy to interact on an emotional level.

THURSDAY: Action is only favored today between 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. when the Moon sextiles Mars (Planet of Action). The Moon is shifting between the Libra and Scorpio constellations today and is Void of Course between approximately 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. (central time) – the best time for clear, rational thinking. Otherwise, this is not a day for heavy work and many of us will not feel motivated and find our actions only come in fits and spurts (thanks to Mars in Sagittarius). At the same time, a lunar shift is asking us to weigh responsibilities and relationships. Much like the symbolic Libra scales, you are being asked to examine whether these two areas are balanced or whether the scales are tipped in one’s favor.

FRIDAY: Today is not a day for drama. There’s a lot of watery, emotional energy happening and intense vibes. The Moon is in Scorpio and Mercury is in Pisces, creating a lot of Water energy and it’s a day to daydream and explore passion. However, the energy of this day is best spent going into deep fantasy, using one’s imagination, and uncovering truths. Where are you fed up with? Where are you accepting less than you feel you deserve? What isn’t sitting right with you? This is a time to deep dive into your intuitive and subconscious powers and thinking. The Uranus opposition happening with this Moon will make many people feel worried, slightly agitated, and on edge; know what these feelings are and detach from them. Choose love and wisdom over unfounded fear.

SATURDAY: If something or someone seems too good to be true today, listen to your gut. This isn’t a day of natural, strong judgment so be careful who you trust. This day continues to provide us with intense, dark, and penetrating energies from the Scorpio Moon. Feelings may betray us today, and a deep melancholy fills the air.

SUNDAY: Mars is back in action with a move into the Capricorn constellation. We can finally act, build, and push forward. However, during a Mercury Retrograde it’s best to not push forward on something new, but instead push forward on something old. Retrogrades are best spent revisiting, revising, returning to something. What’s the project or “monkey on your back” you keep meaning to finish? Today marks a great three week cycle where you can finally knock this out and be FREE of it.
